Five requirements for processing technology of aluminum alloy parts:
1. Selection of machining datum for aluminum alloy parts:
The processing datum shall be consistent with the design datum, assembly datum and measurement datum as far as possible. The stability, positioning accuracy and clamping reliability of parts shall be fully considered in the processing technology.


2 Rough machining of aluminum alloy:
Because the machining dimension accuracy and surface roughness of some aluminum alloy parts are not easy to meet the requirements of high accuracy, some parts with complex shapes need to be rough machined before machining, and cut according to the characteristics of aluminum alloy materials. The heat generated in this way will lead to cutting deformation, increase the size error of parts to varying degrees, and even lead to workpiece deformation. Therefore, milling is adopted for rough machining of general plane. At the same time, coolant is added to cool the workpiece to reduce the influence of cutting heat on machining accuracy.


3. Aluminum alloy finishing:
In the process of processing, high-speed cutting will generate a lot of cutting heat. Although fragments can take away most of the heat, they can still generate extremely high temperature in the blade. Due to the low melting point of aluminum alloy, the blade is often in a semi molten state, so that the strength of the cutting point is affected by high temperature, which is easy to produce concave convex defects in aluminum alloy parts during processing. Therefore, in the finishing process, cutting fluid with good cooling performance, good lubrication performance and low viscosity is usually selected. When lubricating tools, the cutting heat shall be taken away in time to reduce the temperature of tools and parts processing surface and the temperature deformation of parts.


4. Reasonable selection of tools:
Compared with ferrous metals, aluminum alloy materials have relatively small cutting force in the cutting process, and can use a larger cutting speed, but it is easy to form debris tumors. The thermal conductivity of aluminum alloy is very high. Due to the large amount of heat generated by the fragments and parts during the cutting process, the temperature of the cutting area is low, and the durability of the tool is high, but the temperature of the part itself rises rapidly, which is easy to cause deformation. Therefore, it is very effective to reduce cutting force and cutting heat by selecting appropriate tool materials, selecting reasonable tool angles and improving tool surface roughness.
5. Use heat treatment and cold treatment to solve processing deformation:
The heat treatment methods to eliminate the processing stress of aluminum alloy materials include: manual timeliness, recrystallization annealing, etc. The process route of parts with simple structure generally adopts rough machining, manual timeliness, and finishing. For the process route of parts with complex structure, it generally adopts rough machining, manual timeliness (heat treatment), semi finishing, manual timeliness (heat treatment) and finishing. While arranging manual timeliness (heat treatment) process after rough machining and semi finishing, stable heat treatment process can be arranged after finishing of parts to prevent small size changes during parts placement, installation and use.
