Thread rolling is a cold forging process that can be performed on a variety of ductile metals to reshape a circular diameter into a thread shape. During this process, the blank is fed into the machine between rolling dies to produce the threads. Thread rolling is a common method used in high-volume production because of its speed. Usually, this process only takes a few seconds per piece. Unlike other threading processes, metal is not removed or wasted during thread rolling, but replaced.
