What is CNC Milling？

Milling is a machining process that uses a rotating multi-point cutting tool to remove material from a workpiece. In CNC milling, the CNC machine typically feeds the workpiece into the cutting tool in the same direction as the cutting tool rotates, while in manual milling the machine feeds the workpiece in the opposite direction of the cutting tool's rotation. The operational capabilities of the milling process include face milling (cutting shallow flat surfaces and flat-bottomed cavities in workpieces) and peripheral milling (cutting deep cavities in workpieces, such as slots and threads).
