Machining principle of non-circular curve in CNC machining
Non circular curves in precision parts processing are divided into analytical curves and non analytical curves like tabular curves. For manual programming, the processing of analytical curves is generally solved. Therefore, this section mainly analyzes the processing error of analytical curves. The mathematical expression of analytical curve can be given in the form of rectangular coordinates of y=3 (x), polar coordinates of p=p (), or parametric equations. Through coordinate transformation, the latter two forms of mathematical expressions can be converted into rectangular coordinate expressions. This kind of parts and various rotary parts with non-circular curve as the generatrix processed on CNC lathes are mainly used.

Precision parts processing
The programming method in precision parts processing is as follows: First, it should be decided whether to use straight line segment to approximate non-circular curve or arc segment to approximate non-circular curve. If linear segments are used to approximate non-circular curves, sharp corners exist at the connection between the linear segments. Because the tool cannot continuously cut the part at the sharp corners, hard spots or cut marks will appear on the part surface, which will deteriorate the quality of the machined surface.
