Chemical composition of stainless steel 304 and stainless steel 316:
Stainless Steel 304: Contains 18% chromium and 8% nickel, and also contains other elements such as carbon, manganese and silicon. Type 304 stainless steel is one of the most common stainless steels.
Stainless steel 316: Contains 16-18% chromium, 10-14% nickel and 2-3% molybdenum, and also contains small amounts of carbon, manganese, silicon and other elements. Type 316 stainless steel adds molybdenum to 304 to improve its corrosion resistance.
