Can beach sand be used for sand casting?
You can use beach sand, or desert sand... as long as it is clean and fine. The sand is bound together with bentonite, a powdered clay. Bentonite is also used in winemaking, well drilling, cosmetics, farm feed additives and milkshake thickeners.
