What's the Electrophoresis?

2023-11-21
Latest company news about What's the Electrophoresis?

The process involves immersing the machined part into a bath containing a dispersion of electrically charged particles, typically paint or pigment particles. An electric field is then applied, causing the charged particles to migrate and deposit onto the surface of the part. The deposited particles adhere to the surface, forming a uniform and durable coating.

Electrophoretic deposition offers several advantages. It provides excellent coating uniformity, even on complex-shaped parts, due to the electric field evenly distributing the particles across the surface. The process can also be used to enhance the corrosion resistance, improve the aesthetics, or provide specific functional properties to the CNC machined part.

By selecting suitable coating materials and adjusting the process parameters, such as voltage and deposition time, the desired coating thickness and properties can be achieved. This makes electrophoretic deposition a versatile and controllable technique for post-processing CNC machined metal parts.
